EverythingAboutCocktailsinBüyükada:FrequentlyAskedQuestions
This page collects the questions that come up most when people are planning a Büyükada evening — or trying to understand what Julius is about before they arrive.
No long explanations. Short, honest answers.
When Is the Best Time to Come for Cocktails?
Afternoons and evenings work best. The cocktail side opens naturally from around 14:00 onwards — that's when the island pace shifts from daytime to evening mode. Sunset hour and early evening are the most atmospheric. For current opening hours, the contact page has the details.
In general: come when you're not in a rush. The island will have already taken care of the pace by the time you sit down.
What Should Someone Order on Their First Visit?
If you're not sure: Aperol Spritz is the easiest opener — light, refreshing, approachable. If you want something with more character: Negroni is the natural next step. If you want something very long and cold: ask about highballs when you arrive.
The menu is the most direct answer. Start there and ask questions — that's what the table is for.
Can a Day That Starts with Coffee End with a Cocktail?
Yes — that's exactly the design. Coffee 101 covers the morning rhythm at Julius; Cocktail 101 takes over for the afternoon and evening. Julius bridges the full day naturally — coffee at the start, cocktail at the end, the same island in between.
It's not a coincidence that both guides live at Julius. The idea is that the whole day can make sense in one place.
